CLA UTILIZES A THEMED-BASED CURRICULUM FOR AGES 2.5-3 YEARS
Our Advanced Themed-Based curriculum for our 2-3 year olds means that each skill area of the curriculum is connected to a topic which we refer to as a theme. At CLA our themes are very specific and last from month-to-month. For example, in the preschool classroom they might be learning about transportation as a four week theme. All of CLA classroom activities would be tied into the theme during the unit.
At CLA we know that research shows that learning is an integrated process, and that theme-based education is beneficial in several ways. Children of all ages benefit from the connections made across the curriculum. Rather than teaching each skill or topic in isolation students are encouraged to see that at different times of the day or through different subjects they can learn about different aspects of a larger topic. In turn this helps our scholars see connections and start to make their own connections from one experience to another and become creative in their thinking.

The Frog Street Curriculum
Creates a Joyful Environment
Our curriculum and resources are designed to tap into a child’s nature and create a joyful experience from the first moments of the day until it is time to say goodbyes. Our 4-5 year old program is filled with songs, music, hands-on materials and activities, chants, games, make-believe, & designed to stimulate a child’s imagination, to make each day a wonderful one!
Our Focus is on Intentionality of Instruction
Our curriculum and program are aimed at igniting the minds of young children by fostering their academic, social and emotional growth through purposeful lessons and materials that intentionally produce a positive outcome. Our comprehensive, research-based programs integrate instruction across developmental domains and early learning disciplines.
We Foster Professional Development
With a program designed to be as engaging for teachers and caregivers as it is for children, our focus is on fostering the continual professional development of those implementing FrogStreet resources in the classroom. Our CLA teacher will have both onsite & offsite FrogStreet training.

Our Director at Clear Lake Academy has over 20+ years experience working in the early childhood field. As a motivator with young children, her mission is to educate the "whole" child at an individual level. With the rise, grow and accelerate mission, we want children to have endless opportunities to play, explore, experiment and discover so that they may learn. Our philosophy in early childhood education revolves around the belief that children are mighty learners capable of most things and eager to learn.
